Sorry.... We Don't Believe You
There is an old saying that the coverup is always worst than the crime. Just ask Richard Nixon and Donald...... never mind.
Anyway, KSTU in Salt Lake City did a story about some pigs that got lose and were rounded up by some police officers.
Here are a couple of screenshots and check out the lower third:
Yes, the station referred to the cops as "pigs."
And if they wasn't bad enough, then they offered up this excuse as to what happened?
Now, does anyone out there believe this was a typo?
Anyone?
Bueller? Bueller?
If it was a typo, why did the lower third stay up for the entire story?
I'm sorry, but I would bet the house that someone thought it was funny to call the cops 'pigs' in a story about pigs and then when the viewers started calling in, they said sorry and tried to blame it on a typo.
Why not admit that is was wrong, insensitive and say that you are truly sorry. Trying to cover up the mistake only makes it worse.
I have a strong feeling that KTSU News Director Marc Sternfield will be having a few meetings in his office today.
Just a hunch.
