After nearly two decades at the station, KTRK Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller says he is retiring to start a "Second Chapter in life."

Of course, he is not retiring in two weeks, two months, or even this year. 

Heller says he's last day is Jan. 11, 2019. 

So why does he feel the need to tell viewers this news in July? We have no clue. 

Heller joined the KTRK team in 2002 where he covered several major storms including Hurricanes Ike and Harvey.
