He's Baaaaaack....
Meteorologist Chad Evans spent 6 years at WLFI in Lafayette, before he left for a Chief Met job at CBS/Fox 44 in Evansville.
Bit now Evans has returned to WLFI and he says he turned down a number of other offers before coming back.
Talking to the Journal & Courier, Evans says, "I was chief meteorologist at CBS/Fox 44 in Evansville and decided to move on from that position. I got an agent and received offers from multiple stations, but when I was aware there might be an opening here, we got the ball rolling. This was my No. 1 choice of all the offers."
He does not say where the other offers were, but he's glad to be back, "First and foremost, I like the people I work for. From my news director to my general manager, they have my utmost respect. They have a vision, we know what is expected of us, they have clear-cut rules and they run a tight ship. There is so much professional development with the consultants we have and guidance we receive. This station and area is much bigger market. From management to the company to the resources available to training and our equipment, it is much, much larger market. Evansville and Lafayette should switch market size."
As for his perfect weather day? He would love to see the area just getting hammered by severe weather. "My day would be wall-to-wall severe weather tracking and coverage for hours. That is when I thrive, as that is when you have to be beyond your "A" game."
Got to say, he sure doesn't seem to be lacking in the ego department does he?
