The One That Got Away

When Ronan Farrow was hired at NBC, the network touted it as a big hire and the fact that Farrow would have his own show on MSNBC.

The show was dud and later canceled. But, Farrow was still employed by NBC and he was still showing up to work and trying to cover news.

One story that Farrow was investigating was the story of powerful Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein and the many allegations of sexual harassment against him.

NBC spiked Farrow's story and he shopped it to the New Yorker and rest is history.

Farrow has shown that he truly was a Journalist and that he could crank out great material. He has posted blockbuster stories over and over again for the New Yorker and his most recent story led to the resignation of New York State's Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

NBC looked at Farrow as a good looking guy with bright blue eyes and might be some good cable news eye candy.

What they never did was look at Farrow as a Journalist and he has proved that is what he truly is.

Some are pointing the finger at Andy Lack and say this proves that Lack has lost his luster.

After all, it was Lack that overpaid and misused Fox News host Megyn Kelly. Turned a blind eye to Matt Lauer's behavior until it blew up. Sits back and let's Joy Reid change her story over and over again when it comes to the "hacking" of her former blog.

This all went down, while not realizing that he had the next great Journalist sitting in the MSNBC newsroom in Farrow.

Ronan Farrow got chewed up and spit up by the cable news machine and he is doing his best work since that happened.

As for Lack, it is another notch into what is a growing list of missteps at NBC.
