FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Cox owned WFXT (Boston) was going to name a new News Director yesterday and we were the FIRST to tell you when it happened. 

In case you missed our update the station named current Managing Editor Sarah Burgess as the station's new ND. 

Burgess has been at WFXT since 2005 and started as a special projects producer at the station and worked her way up the food chain. 

She also has strong ties to Boston, in the fact that she attended Boston University. 

Cox often grows their News Directors from inside and rarely goes outside the company to make those hires. The promotion of Burgess is another example of that. 

Congrats to Sarah on the new gig.
