Crossing The Bay Bridge
On April 20th, FTVLive told you that longtime KTVU (Oakland) Anchor Ken Wayne had left the Fox O&O.
It didn't take long for Wayne to cross the Bay Bridge and land a gig Nexstar's KRON.
“It’s a chance to take on a bigger challenge and really spread my wings,” Wayne said of the new role.
He goes from the strong first place station to the dog in the market, but he still likes what he sees. “At KTVU, I had kind of maxed out. I was doing about as much as I could,” Wayne said. “This is a chance to do more.”
“You can spend more time on stories developing into the night,” he said. “There are fewer time restrictions.”
“… I am very excited to welcome award-winning journalist, Ken Wayne, to the KRON4 news team,” said Chris McDonnell, KRON4 Vice President and General Manager, in a statement issued by the station. “Ken is recognized as an exceptional storyteller, who has an engaging and compassionate way of communicating, which uniquely connects with local audiences.”
It will be interesting to see if viewers follow Wayne to his new TV home.
