Nexstar News Director's Fuzzy Math
FTVLive has been telling you how Nexstar CEO Perry Sook got a raise of well over a 1000% in 2017, taking his salary just shy of $20,000,000 bucks a year.
And while Uncle Perry has seen his pay skyrocket, Nexstar employees are being offered scraps.
One Nexstar staffer tells FTVLive, this story, "The raise I was proposed was 2% the first year and 0% the second year. Math wasn't my strongest subject, but although the news director kept saying the raise was 2%; it is actually 1% over TWO years. However, the news director kept saying this was 2%--like that's something to write home about!"
The employee told the mathematically challenged News Director that he was willing to give up any raise if the company would get rid of the "indentured servitude" clause. That clause makes the employee have to pay the company a large fee if they leave the station during the contract.
The staffer says the company balked at that and the two sides parted ways.
Is this a great business or what?
