Nexstar Employees Come in $20,000 Below the National Average (Updated)
FTVLive told you that the Median salary for a Nexstar employee in 2017 was $38,850 dollars.
But how does that compare to the national average of working Americans?
The short answer is....Not Good.
While the average Nexstar staffer is making just over $38,000, according to the Census Bureau, for 2015 and 2016, US median household income rose 3.2% from $57,230 to $59,039.
In other words, Nexstar staffers are making more than $20,000 less than the national average.
Let that sink in for a bit.
It is time that media companies start paying their employees better and maybe, just maybe Perry Sook can share some of his $20,000,000 salary with the people working for him.
Just a thought...
Update: As some have pointed out the Census Bureau is measuring household income and not individual (although some households are just individuals). The bottom line is this, Nexstar employees are paid too low and the company should pay them more. This also goes for many other media companies as well. But, their CEO's did make $20 million bucks last year either.
