Proving that network Anchors and Reporters just don't have the gravitas of those a generation before them, ABC News has turned to actor John Goodman for it's latest promo for the news division. 

Back in the day, Peter Jennings, Diane Sawyer or even  Reporter Sam Donaldson would be the focus of the network's promos. 

But, let's be honest, most people couldn't pick David Muir or Amy Robach out of a line-up. So the network has turned to the voice of an actor, not a news person. 

The promo fetures an older lady, a guy wearing glasses and a cute dog that make up the news promo and voice of actor John Goodman. 

How times have changed.
