She's so Woke
WFAA Traffic Anchor Demetria Obilor is Woke.
Now, if you don't know what "woke" means, let a hip guy like me tell you.
Hang on, let me Google it.
OK....Urban Dictionary defines "woke" as being aware, and "knowing what's going on in the community."
Essence Magazine named Obilor to their "Woke 100 Women" list.
The mag says that their Woke list "honors the women who are proven change agents, shape-shifters and power players across the nation and beyond."
Obilor earned a spot on the list for "calling out a racist body shamer" who had criticized her appearance last fall, the magazine wrote.
Other people that are woke are actress Kerry Washington, #MeToo movement founder Tarana Burke and ESPN journalist Jemele Hill.
FTVLive is hoping someday to win a "Woke Award," at least it's better than an Emmy.
