On Vacation
You know when you start a new job at a TV station and you have to wait like a year to get your first vacation day?
Well, Fox News host Laura Ingraham has been on the job just 5 months and she is already getting a week off.
Of course, this week off comes just after a number of her advertisers boycotted her show for her making fun of Parkland student David Hogg being turned down by UCLA for his college choice.
The last person at Fox News to go on vacation when this same sort of thing happened was Bill O'Reilly. We all know how that turned out.
So, the question is, is this a real vacation?
No one at Fox News is saying for sure, but insiders tell FTVLive that unlike O'Reilly, Ingraham is going to return from her vacation. It is a good bet that she was "encouraged" to take the time off to let this whole thing settle down an insider tells FTVLive.
FTVLive has told you that we are not big fans of people demanding advertisers to pull their sponsorship. If the company decides on their own to do so, that's cool, but people making demands and holding a gun to their heads just doesn't sit right with us.
We pointed out that CNN media critic Brian Stelter gets almost giddy when another company pulls its spots from Fox News. Then this weekend, Stelter tried to point out that advertiser boycotts are "dangerous."
But when Bayer tweeted out that they were pulling their ads from Ingraham's show, Stelter was quick to "like" the tweet.
Seems old habits die hard.
