KGPE Chief Meteorologist Marina Jurica is off the air and recovering after being involved in a bad car accident where one driver was killed.

 The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Highway 168. CHP says that the driver of a 1998 Acura was killed after a driver lost control of his car on the on-ramp. The hit  the concrete center median on the highway and ended up blocking 2 lanes.

It caused a chain reaction with three other cars – including the one driven by Jurica.

She suffered minor injuries and was able to go home after the crash.

CHP is investigating, but they said neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor.
