Is Cox Selling Boston Station?
FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Cox owned WFXT announced that News Director Mike Oliveria was leaving the station and headed to sister station WSOC in Charlotte.
Oliveria was the ND at WPXI in Pittsburgh, before landing a job at Fox Boston in his hometown.
Now, Oliveria is leaving Boston and word is he wasn't given much choice by Cox on making the move to Charlotte.
Now, rumors are also going around that Cox might be looking to sell WFXT.
Cox has only owned the station since 2014, when Fox strong-armed Cox into trading KTUV the San Francisco powerhouse station for the also-ran station in Beantown.
Word is that Cox might be looking to sell the underperforming station back to Fox or to Ed Ansin's Sunbeam media, which also owns WHDH.
No official announcements just yet, only speculation.
