Former WATN (Memphis) Anchor Brandon Artiles is out of the news game and working in the non-profit world.

Artiles is the first full-time staff member for the faith-based nonprofit My Town Miracles, which has funded scholarships for cancer patients and helped families struggling with medical bills.

"Someone watching over My Town Miracles full-time puts us in a greater position to impact God's kingdom and be the difference maker for someone who needs a miracle," said the organization's founder, Noel Fenderson, in a news release.

Fenderson is a co-owner of the Memphis-based companies My Town Movers and My Town Roofing, which support the nonprofit.

"Up until this point, this has been a part-time passion for us. With Brandon on staff, his sole focus will be finding people we can help and encouraging donors to support our vision," Fenderson said.

Artiles said he has big plans for the organization in 2018, as he hopes to push the nonprofit toward having a more enduring impact.

Fenderson said he expects the organization's impact to "multiply" under Artiles.
