Is Fox On The Hunt?
Sources are telling FTVLive that Fox is looking to make a station grab. The target companies; Sinclair and Meredith.
Its no secret that Fox would like to own stations in NFL markets and they're not shy about taking no prisoners in accomplishing that. You may remember the last big squeeze Fox enacted on a group was Cox. They pushed Cox to give up their juggernaut KTVU in San Fran, for also ran WFXT in Boston.
Sources say their new targets are stations in Indianapolis, Cleveland and Las Vegas: WXIN, WJW and KVVU .
KVVU is owned by Meredith and .Las Vegas will soon have the Oakland Raiders relocating to Sin City.
Word is that Fox is interested in obtaining KVVU the Fox affiliate in town.
Will Meredith sell their Vegas station to Fox, or call their bluff?
Fox could pull their affiliation and go to another station in town that is willing to sell.
Word is that Fox is also playing hardball with Sinclair when it comes to buying some of the Tribune stations. Fox is very interested, but sources say they are not liking Sinclair's terms of the deal.
That is why Sinclair has proposed this new plan to the FCC, in which they will sell stations to another company but will still run them.
It seems that both Fox and Sinclair are greedy and trying to get their way.
