WOOD (Grand Rapids) Meteorologist Kyle Underwood has left the building at the Nexstar station.

Underwood is out of WOOD, leaving the station last week.

Underwood, along with Anchor Marlee Ginter, launched “The 7 on 8,” West Michigan’s only 7 p.m. newscast, in September 2016.

While Underwood hasn’t shared his exact plans, he told viewers he has some exciting news to share in the new year.

In the meantime, he looks forward to spending time with his wife and young daughter and being home in the evenings and weekends.
