South Florida Anchor will be Sleeping In
WFTX (Ft. Myers) Morning Anchor Jane Monreal will get the chance to sleep in.
Scripps announced that Monreal is being promoted to the evening desk.
Monreal joined WFTX in 2016 as the weekday morning anchor, is now co-anchoring the station’s 6, 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts with Patrick Nolan and Derek Beasley.
“Fox 4 has a strong record of producing quality news that both informs and enlightens, and I am excited and privileged to be part of leading the station into its next chapter,” said Monreal. “As a newscaster with Florida roots, I’ve enjoyed being back home for the last two years, taking in the warm sunshine, immersing in our local arts & culture, and most importantly, connecting with the Southwest Florida community on what matters most to them.”
She replaces Amy Wegmann, who left the station in September.
