WHIO (Dayton) Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell is leaving the station and they have already named his replacement.

McCall Vrydagh gets the top spot after spending 6 years at the Cox station.

“I’m very excited to start this next chapter of my life,” Vrydaghs said. “The Miami Valley is my home, and it means everything to me to keep families safe from severe weather by leading the very best weather team in Southwest Ohio.”

The torch was officially passed from Elwell to Vrydagh yesterday.
