KALB (Alexandria, La.) has hired a new Weather anchor and the picture they used is a classic.

Barrett Phillips comes to Alexandria from San Angelo, Texas, where he spent the past four years as the chief meteorologist for KIDY/FOX15 in the San Angelo and Abilene markets.

Effective Oct. 8, Phillips will anchor the 10 p.m. Nightside weather forecasts, Monday through Friday. Chief meteorologist Tom Konvicka will continue to lead the team and anchor the 5 and 6 p.m. weather forecasts.

“We had the opportunity to add another experienced meteorologist to our weather team, and simply could not pass that up,” said KALB news director, Al Quartemont. “What this allows for us is to have both Tom and Barrett manning the evening newscasts, not only on air, but also on social media and the Web, which has become a daunting task as our audience reach continues to grow in that direction.

The station posted this picture on their website of Phillips alongside Chief meteorologist Tom Konvicka.

I’m sorry, but this picture looks like the kid that doesn’t want to be seen with his dad at the mall.

Then again, maybe it’s just me.
