Resurfacing Across the Street in SoFlo

Miami viewers saw a familiar face but in a different place.

Former longtime WPLG Anchor Diane Magnum has shown back up on the air, but this time it is across the street at WFOR.

Gossip Extra writes that Magnum, who co-anchored the main news shows for more than 20 years at WPLG-Channel 10 alongside Dwight Lauderdale before vanishing from the airwaves in 2008, is On WFOR.

She has replaced Vanessa Borge who was considered a rising star in TV news before going M-I-A.

Borge’s left the station in October and no one is saying why?  Borge would only say, “CBS4 offered me a three-year contract in October but I thought it was time for me to move on after nine great years in Miami.”

As for Magnum, it appears that she is anchoring at the station on a freelance basis.

“I came back in early December,” said a giggly Magnum when she was reached by telephone today. She said she couldn’t talk because she had visitors and promised to call back in 10 minutes but didn’t.

Magnum didn’t return several subsequent calls for more comment.
