There was a time when you could never make the jump from Waco, TX to the St. Louis TV market, without a stop off in some mid-market. 

But, that was the days before Tegna.

Now, kids straight out of school are landing gigs in big markets. 

This week, Brittney Verner joined Tegna owned KSDK after putting in a stint in Waco, Texas.

Also joining the St. Louis station is Chris Davis.  

He comes from Huntsville, Ala. Before that, he worked as a producer and assignment editor in Nashville, Tenn.
