Boston Reporter: 'I Am in Remission'

Back in November, FTVLive told you that viewers were wondering why NBC Boston Reporter Natasha Verma was not on the air and no longer posting to social media?

It turns out that Verma was dealing with much more important issues.

Verma posted on the NBC Boston website, "I am very aware that many of you have asked about my whereabouts on NBC 10 Boston.

Five months ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I immediately underwent aggressive chemotherapy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
With the incredible support of my family and friends, I was able to overcome the physical and emotional toll of this terrible disease."

She adds, "Losing my hair was one of the hardest parts of chemotherapy. Many women, especially those struggling to cover health care bills, cannot afford the cost of a quality wig. That’s why I’ve decided to raise money and donate free wigs to women and children fighting cancer."

She has started up a donation page, saying that every wig is 100 percent human hair - available in 80 colors - that is permanently attached to a cap, creating a ready-to-wear look with no styling needed! Your financial donation allows my foundation to create custom cap wigs at no cost to families dealing with cancer. Your donation will be a tremendous gift to a woman or child undergoing chemotherapy.

Be advised the donation site is running a bit slow, but it will go through. I just donated and it took a bit to process. Hopefully that's because so many people are sending in donations.
