Dragging Their Feet in Chicago
Chicago Anchor Mark Suppelsa announced that he was leaving WGN more than 5 months ago.
And now that he's gone, the station seems to be no closer to hiring his replacement.
One problem is, WGN is a Tribune station that is being bought by Sinclair. It's tough to hire a main Anchor when the future of the station is so unknown?
Robert Feder writes that WGN News director Jennifer Lyons confirms that there would not be a successor in place for the February rating sweep, which starts next Thursday.
As the anchor search goes on, a variety of insiders have been filling in alongside Micah Materre at 5, 6, 9 and 10 p.m.
WGN continues to hold a wide lead over Fox O&O WFLD in the ratings.
Guess as long as it stays that way, no hurry in making a new hire.
