Signing off in Johnstown

Longtime WJAC Anchor Marty Radovanic isn't waiting around till the end of the November book to retire, he's gone next week.

After 40 years doing the news Radovanic told The Tribune-Democrat he plans to step away from his anchor chair Oct. 6 following the 6 p.m. broadcast.

“It’s been such a joy and pleasure to be welcomed into thousands of homes every day over the years,” he said. “I’ve had the ultimate career, and it was time to let someone else enjoy it.”

“I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter,” he said, noting he may write or teach. “I’m not sure what the future will bring ... but I’m taking that next step knowing my life has been truly blessed.”

Radovanic did make an appearance on FTVLive a few weeks ago with this clip.
