New Met Hired in Tucson
KOLD has made a new hire in their Weather department.
The Tucson station has hired new Chief Meteorologist.
Lisa Villegas joins the station, coming from KTVT in Dallas.
Here is the internal memo that was sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:
I am pleased to announce we have hired a new Chief Meteorologist. Lisa Villegas comes to us from the Metroplex where she most recently worked at KTVT, the CBS O&O station in Dallas. Lisa has also worked in Rio Grande Valley and in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Lisa attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and has a degree in Meteorology. This next sentence will play well for a couple of people in the newsroom. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she’s a die-hard fan of the Steelers,Pirates and Penguins. She’ll point out the Pens are Stanley Cup Champs!
Lisa loves to paddle board and salsa dance, though not at the same time. She’s also proud mom to Biscuit, her beloved Chihuahua, whom you’ll see on many social media posts.
Please join me in welcoming Lisa to the KOLD family. She’ll start October 9th.
