Is That Still News?
Last week (7 days ago) FTVLive FIRST told you that CBS O&O WCCO had parted ways with News Director Mike Caputa.
If you checked any other TV blog in the past week, you did not see the story that FTVLive FIRST reported.
Then yesterday afternoon, the local newspaper in Minneapolis finally got around to the story. So, FTVLive sent out this tweet yesterday:
Lo and behold, like lemmings jumping off a cliff, TVSpy and TVNewsCheck had the story posted on their websites this morning. No credit to FTVLive for FIRST breaking the story, no mention on FTVLive anywhere.
See the word NEWS starts with the letters "N-E-W," a week later it is no longer new and it is certainly no longer news.
It's sad that websites that are read by Journalists, don't practice the craft of Journalism themselves. They won't report anything until they get a press release or it's in the newspaper and they won't give credit to FTVLive, who actually broke the story.
FTVLive will continue calling out these people until they do the right thing.
