Bumped Up at The Firm
WFLD has moved their morning Anchor to the night shift.
Corey McPherrin, one of the good guys in this business, is getting the chance to sleep in.
McPherrin who was a longtime Sports Anchor at CBS O&O WBBM and WFLD made the switch to news and hosted WFLD's “Good Day Chicago.”
Now, Robert Feder says that McPherrin will move up to anchor the 5 and 9 p.m. weekday newscasts.
McPherrin takes over for Jeff Herndon who left the station to go back to Wichita. FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Herndon wanted out.
Feder writes that McPherrin’s promotion could help Fox 32 narrow the gap with Tribune Broadcasting competitor WGN-Channel 9. The longtime rival is about to lose main news anchor Mark Suppelsa, who plans to retire in December, while WGN faces an uncertain future with Sinclair Broadcast Group poised to acquire owner Tribune Media.
