San Antonio Anchor Breaks Down and Has to Leave the Set
The hurricane coverage hit one San Antonio Anchor very hard. So hard in fact that she had to leave the set during the newscast.
WOAI Anchor Delaine Mathieu broke down during Friday's coverage of the impending storm.
Her anchor partner Randy Beamer quickly handled the situation, escorting her off the set and suggesting she might want to go home to recover.
The reason for her tears?
Her dad, who’s 77, and stepmother live in Corpus Christi.
And as she explained to viewers in a post on Facebook, “my dad is stubborn and decided to stay.”
When the storm was upgraded to a Category 4, “my heart sank and I broke down. It just hit me and I couldn’t even read my scripts,”
Mathieu said in a text on Saturday. She also was worried about her mom and sister, who live in Rockport.
