Matt Cherniss is one of the smartest guys to ever work in a TV station. 

Cherniss was the president and general manager of WGN America and Tribune Studios. That was until Sinclair announced that they were going to buy WGN and the rest of the Tribune stations. 

At that point, Cherniss updated the old resume and started looking for a new job and he found it. 

He has landed at Apple and will oversee development at their new worldwide video unit. Apple has already begun rolling out original content and Cherniss is on board to make that continue. 

Let's see, working for one of the best and most innovative companies in America, or Sinclair? 

I think Matt Cherniss chose wisely.
