Another Chicago Anchor Off the Air After Surgery

It seems a number of Chicago Anchors are missing on air face-time after having a medical procedure done.

You can now add WFLD's Corey McPherrin to the list.

McPherrin, the anchor of WFLD's morning show is expected to be off the air for at least six weeks while recovering from open heart surgery to correct a lifelong ailment.

“I’m feeling better than I expected,” the longtime Chicago news and sports anchor tweeted Friday. “The Good Lord delivers again!!”

Robert Feder says that the 62 year old McPherrin underwent surgery last Tuesday to replace an aortic valve and part of his aorta that had become enlarged. He reportedly told friends he was born with a faulty valve or developed it early in life, and had been monitoring his condition for decades. The time to fix it was now, he told them.
