Leaving the Business in Knoxville
WBIR (Knoxville) Noon Anchor Mary Scott is getting out of TV news and going into politics.
But, she's not running for office.
Scott is departing the station to work on Randy Boyd's campaign for governor of Tennessee. She will be working in communications.
Scott came to WBIR in 2011 as a reporter after two years in Panama City Beach. It wasn't long before she moved to the anchor desk, first anchoring weekend mornings, and then 10News at Noon during the week.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to tell East Tennessee’s stories these last six years," Scott said. "I am proud of the work WBIR produces, the advocacy the staff champions and the difference our stories make in the community.”
“WBIR and East Tennessee viewers have made me a better person. They taught me what it means to make a difference in the community and serve others. I will always carry that with me in my life and career,” she said.
Could we be looking at the next Sean Spicer in the making?
Ok....bad example.
