I'm Sorry but NO....
FTVLive told you the sad news this weekend.
Legendary DC Anchor Jim Vance died after a battle with cancer.
The word "Legendary" is too easily thrown around in this business, but in the case of Vance it fit. The man gave the news to DC viewers for damn near 50 years.
He was a legend.
Of course the news struck many longtime staffers in the WRC newsroom very hard. It's tough losing a co-worker, it's even tougher when it's a legend like Vance.
For the most part, WRC handled the passing of Vance with straight up class and did it right. But, when they threw the black shroud over the co-anchor chair, I'm sorry that was a bit much.
Honoring Jim Vance is completely deserved. The anchor chair covered in black, well that just made it look like you're trying to put on a show.
Like we said, WRC handled the Vance story with the class that he deserved. I just wish they would have skipped the whole chair bit.
We have a feeling, Jim Vance would have felt the same way.
