Kelly Kollapse
When NBC hired Megyn Kelly away from Fox News, they thought it was a great idea.
FTVLive never did.
When NBC said that they would be giving Kelly her own show on Sunday night, FTVLive predicted it would do awful in the ratings.
When NBC said that they would put Megyn Kelly on the Today Show, we said it was an experiment that would fail.
So far, FTVLive is 2 out of 3 and the 3rd one hasn't happened yet.
Despite all the fanfare and the Peacock strutting the Megyn Kelly hire, it so far has been nothing but a flop.
Kelly's latest Sunday night show registered its lowest ratings since its debut on June 4.
Kelly's show averaged just 3.1 million viewers, which is less than half the viewers she had for her debut (which was not all that impressive to begin with).
The good news for NBC is that Kelly's show only has a few more runs before the NFL football season starts and her show is replaced with NFL games.
Then NBC will have to decide if they want to bring Kelly's Sunday night show back after the NFL season. We guess that they will try it for a few shows and then when the ratings are still bad, NBC will quietly pull the plug on Kelly's Sunday show.
As for the Today Show?
Kelly starts full time at Today on September 25th. Word is that NBC is planning a huge promotional push in the weeks and days leading up to Kelly's Today Show debut.
NBC won't say it out loud, but behind closed doors, they are worried that hiring Kelly was a big mistake and they are going to try and promote the hell out of her to make it work.
Will find out this Fall if it does or not.
You know what FTVLive thinks will happen?
