Buffalo Station Finally Replaces Anchor
Nexstar owned WIVB has finally gotten around to filling an Anchor position on their morning show.
It has been almost a year since
After almost a year since FTVLive told you that Teresa Weakley was leaving the Buffalo station for a gig in Grand Rapids.
The station had been using Brittni Smallwood as Weakley's replacement, but Samllwood did not get the gig full time.
That goes to Melanie Orlins, who most recently anchored the morning news at a Fox affiliate in Harrisburg, Pa.
Orlins will join the station July 27 and become Jordan Williams' co-anchor on the morning newscast sometime after that. She will also anchor the noon newscast.
As for passing over Smallwood, who has helped the show's ratings increase while she has been filling in? WIVB News Director Lisa Polster confirmed that Smallwood applied for the job. Asked why she didn't get it, Polster said: "Brittni is a great journalist, she will still be part of the team. We love her. Melanie also is a great journalist and has experience growing a morning show in a bigger market. She is active in the community and on social media. We're adding another solid journalist."
Ummmmm.....yeah.
