Legendary NY Anchor Coming Off Late News
Legendary WNBC Anchor Chuck Scarborough is taking one step closer to calling it a day.
Scarborough says he will no longer the 11 p.m. news after 42 straight years.
“I just wanted to see what it was like being like the rest of the world lives,” he said.
Lester Holt's son Stefan Holt will start anchoring the late news and trying to fill the shoes of Scarborough, which will be no easy task.
Scarborough 73, will remain on the air at 6 p.m. as he scales back his workload. His final 11 p.m. telecast will be July 14.
“I’ve been working this 3 p.m. to midnight shift for half a century,” he said. “But it’s not like I’m retiring ... when news breaks, I promise you, I’ll be there.”
