Same Old Fox?
It's been a tumultuous six months at 21st Century Fox.
Fox News Channel architect Roger Ailes is out. FNC co-president Bill Shine is out. Super star talent Bill O'Reilly is out, and Megyn Kelly bolted for NBC. At the same time, lawsuits and accusations of sexual harassment continue to grow.
The Washington Post got hold of the internal memo that Rupert Murdoch sent to the staff this week, after Bill Shine 'resigned'. It's first line: 'Sadly, Bill Shine resigned today.' Wait, what? Sadly?
From the moment Ailes was fired (and given $40 million), there were reports of Shine's questionable involvement in Ailes' activities. In fact, why would they create co-presidents of FNC, if all was cut and dry?
The last line of Murdoch's memo seems to say it all: "Fox News continues to break both viewing and revenue records, for which I thank you all. I am sure we can do even better."
