NBC Having Hard Time finding EP for Megyn Kelly
Megyn Kelly is close to launching two shows on the peacock and still no Executive Producer has been hired for either show.
NBC and Megyn Kelly would like you to believe it's because there are just so many great people lining up for the job, that it's hard to choose.
But, sources tell FTVLive it is quite the opposite.
Kelly and NBC are finding it hard to find an EP for both her morning show and her Sunday show that will go head to head with 60 minutes.
"They have approached some big names and they have all said no," a source tells FTVLive.
As for the morning show, the NY Daily News writes that NBC News has yet to find an executive producer and more troubling, hasn’t decided if the hour-long telecast will remain part of the “Today” show brand.
“It’s all still up in the air,” a network snitch tells us. “There’s only three months to go before it starts and they still haven’t said who will run the show or how it will be related to ‘Today.’ ”
There has been talk internally at NBC of cutting “Today” down to two hours from its current four, adding Kelly’s hour at 9 a.m. and then spinning off the show’s fourth hour, featuring Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford into its own, non-“Today”-branded program.
“They’ve got to figure this out soon,” the source said. “They’re running out of time.”
