Journalists' Brain Function: Lower Than Average
There's a study that finds journalists drink too much, are bad at managing emotions and operate at a lower level than average.
The first two, are no brainers (pardon the pun). As a result, the study says journalists have a below average ability to regulate emotions, suppress biases, solve complex problems, switch between tases, and show creative and flexible thinking.
The reason this happens? Mostly because of dehydration and the tendency of journalists to self-medicate with alcohol, caffeine, and high sugar foods. Hmmmm, that's pretty much dead-on on a daily basis.
There are some things that journalists' brains are good at. Check out Business Insider for the full results.
The study had no comment on the brains of Don Lemon, Jeff Zucker, or Keith Olbermann.
