Is NBC slowly phasing out MSNBC?

Over the past few days MSNBC is streamlining their dayside coverage with the identity of NBC News much more prominent. 

Check out the double boxes above, which now have identifiers showing "NBC News - New York" or "NBC News - Washington" where they previously read "MSNBC - New York" or D.C.  A

Also, the network bumpers at the top of the hour of each MSNBC Live telecast now say NBC News instead of MSNBC.

MSNBC is enjoying some of their best ratings ever and now NBC might be looking to get the MS off the logo.
