PA. Anchor to Pay Fine in Assault Case

Back in February, FTVLive told you that Pennsylvania state police were investigating WNEP’s Jim Hamill for the alleged assault of a Wilkes-Barre woman at his home.

Now, Hamill is paying a fine in the case.

The WNEP Anchor "opened a door" and struck Sara Katrenicz Wilkes-Barre, on the forehead, causing swelling and a cut, according to the citation.

Hamill must pay a fine of about $250, according to the citation issued March 9. His attorney Brendan Ellis said they were glad to receive a resolution and to dispel the notion that any assault occurred that evening.

You know, because everyone pays a fine when they did nothing wrong. He just opened the door and now he's paying $250. Boy....sounds like the guy is getting railroaded don't you think?

Hamill has been a WNEP-TV news reporter since 2006, and became the weekend anchor in 2013, according to the station’s website.
