Fired Boston Reporter Issues Statement
It seems that Michaels did not have much faith in science.
FTVLive wrote, Michaels has been outspoken in her controversial belief that vaccines cause autism and that had some at the station questioning if she was the right person for the job of Science Reporter?
Michaels also did not appear to be on board with the widely-accepted science related to climate change.
She wrote: “I spent hours and hours reading about climate science to be able to generate related stories. Given my exposures to date, I do feel strongly that politics has warped the scientific process and natural variation has a much stronger hand than humans do.”
Well now, Michaels has released a statement through a PR firm that claim recent stories have distorted her position on climate change. She claimed she posted a single sentence about the subject in 2009 on her website and has not commented on the subject publically since that time.
Here is her current position on the topic:
“I am not a climate change denier. I never stated that humans do not have an influence on our climate. My point at the time in 2009 was that natural influences appeared to be more significant than manmade ones. Scientists are trying to determine the human impact and how to mitigate or adapt to shifts in our complex climate puzzle. I have deep respect for climate scientists and their challenging mission.”
The release said nothing about her thoughts on vaccines that she claims is one of the causes autism.
