'Deathstar' Annihilating Media General Execs
Everyone knew it was going to happen, it was just a matter of when?
Nexstar, aka Deathstar, has been chopping heads in the Media General ranks, since the merger was made official. The latest casualties come from the Media General corporate staff.
Jay Howell, VP of Media General's broadcast markets, is out, according to his Linkedin page. He'd been with the company since 2015 when he was hired from VP of LIN Media.
The other casualty is Stan Knott, also a VP of broadcast markets and VP/GM of WKRN-TV in Nashville. He'd been with MG since 2010 when he arrived from VP/GM at WOFL.
FTVLive actually predicted these specific cuts back in September 2015, when Media General was supposed to have been taken over by Meredith.
No word on who's next.
