NBC News to Shake Up Executive Ranks

When Andy Lack took over as Chairman, many thought  Deborah Turness days as NBC News President were numbered.

Well, she held on a lot longer than anyone thought, but now she is about to be replaced.

NBC is going to name Today Show boss Noah Oppenheim as the new President of NBC News. He will replace Turness, who will be reassigned to president of NBC News International, where she will likely never be heard from again.

NBC has made a large investment in a European TV network and Turness will oversee the network which will is called Euronews.

Oppenheim took over “Today” in June 2015 and brought a steady hand to the show following the short-lived and tumultuous run of Jamie Horowitz.

The official announcement is expected from NBC sometime this afternoon.
