Yesterday, FTVLive told you that WTVF (Nashville) Morning Anchor Steve Hayslip posted a couple of tweets making humor of a stabbing that happened in Nashville. 

We tried to point up that someone getting stabbed was not funny at all and that a TV Anchor should not be posting tweets making light of the situation. 

We predicted that when Hayslip saw the story on FTVLive, his "funny" tweets would be taken down and that is exactly what happened. 

But, Steve also followed up with a message to FTVLive saying that his tweets were in poor taste and that he should not have posted them. 

He sent us this message: 

Hey guys, thank you for pointing out my tweet that seemed insensitive about the Nashville stabbing.  I did not think the stabbing was humorous... and was merely commenting on the size of the knife.  Should have just not touched the subject at all.  We didn’t know the stabbing were that serious at first.  My apologies and the tweet was immediately removed.   Thanks again.  Steve Hayslip

Look everyone makes mistakes and people in TV news get jaded to crime stories because we are around them so much. Yes, it was a couple of stupid tweets. But, credit to Steve Hayslip for seeing that and admitting to it. 

That in itself is refreshing.
