It's One Of the Worst Things To Happen to Me...
CBS Morning News host Gayle King says Charlie Rose being accused of sexual harassment and fired from CBS is one of the worst things that has happened to her in her professional career.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, it was probably also bad for the victims of Charlie Rose as well.
“It’s one of the worst things that’s happened to me in my professional career I have to say,” King told Andy Cohen during an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live.'
“I don’t want to sit here and ‘boo’ like a girl or like a baby, but I have great affection for him, really still care about him and just because he’s done what he’s accused of doing, I can’t turn that off. I can’t turn off my feelings for him,” King told Cohen, after being asked about Rose being fired following accusations by multiple women of sexual misconduct.
“But, I also have sympathy for these women, these women that are speaking up,” King added. “So, it’s very, very difficult when somebody you care about has done something that is so egregious to everything that you believe in.”
When Cohen asked what the “tone” of King’s conversations with Rose have been, King was quick to mention that she has yet to see her former co-anchor. “I haven’t seen him yet … I’ve spoken to him,” she said.
King says that she plans on seeing Rose this week and she doesn’t have any nerves.
“I didn’t do anything wrong. No, I’m not nervous to see him," King said. "I want to see him, because I have a lot of questions … I have a feeling I’m gonna ask. It’s difficult when somebody you care about and this happens, but … I know that we will be okay. … It’s a big blow for us.”
