TV consultants will tell you that there is nothing more important in the newscast than weather. 

Yet, for some reason, it is the one segment that TV stations have no problem bringing on kids or celebrities to try and be a forecaster. 

WBBM, the CBS O&O in Chicago brought on Actor Jermaine Fowler (it's OK, I never heard of him either) to play weatherman.

Yep....it's ratings.
