Good news for people that are fans of objective news. 

Jeff Zucker's days at CNN maybe coming to an end. 

As AT&T gets ready to take over Time Warner, which includes CNN, rumors are that the telecom giant will be ditching CNN boss Jeff Zucker and trying to take the cable news channel back to more objective news coverage.

Under Zucker, CNN basically all but gave up covering news and instead went for entertainment for left.

The Justice Department still has to approve the AT&T/Time Warner deal and that basically means that President Donald Trump has to sign off on it.  

While Zucker's CNN is as big a reason for Trump becoming President as the Russians, Trump has made a 180 degree turn on Zucker. 

CNN offered Trump non-stop unedited coverage during the campaign and did so for one reason only....ratings. 

Taking Trump's rallies where he made numerous promises that he hasn't kept as President was getting CNN eyeballs and that was all Zucker cared about. So, CNN continued to give Trump free airtime, ignore the other (some would say better) candidates, and help Trump win the White House. 

But, by hooking his wagon to Trump's star, it proved to be a bad move for CNN and Jeff Zucker. Trump and Zucker started fighting like a couple of 3rd graders and it wasn't long before Trump would start bashing CNN and Zucker would have his people (Stelter, Lemon, Cuomo and Tapper) bashing Trump.

It was like two kids fighting.

But now, Trump might get the last laugh.

As AT&T looks to take over Time Warner, Trump is basically telling them he'll approve the deal if they kick Jeff Zucker to the curb.

AT&T has not said that they are booting Zucker, but they haven't said they are keeping him either.

Many believe that when the deal goes through, Zucker's toast at CNN. 

Not sure that the President should be deciding who runs a cable news operation and I surely don't think that AT&T should give into Trump's demands.

But, the bottom line is, CNN lost its way under Jeff Zucker and he needs to be replaced. While letting the President make that call is wrong, it doesn't mean it isn't the right call.
