Senator Opposes Sinclair Merger
You can add U.S. Senator Richard Durbin from Illinois to the list of people that oppose the Sinclair/Tribune merger.
Writing an opinion piece in Crain's Chicago Business, Durbin writes, "...the Sinclair-Tribune merger undermines competition and threatens local broadcasting as a trusted and diverse voice for its viewers in Chicago, Illinois and across the country. This is not the broadcast media Americans deserve. It is my hope the FCC will not take any further actions to relax its media ownership limits without an honest public review of the state of the broadcast marketplace today."
The bigger question is will the Senator do anything about it to stop it?
It's easy to write words, now let's see if this Senator takes action?
