CBS O&O WWJ/WKBD has bumped up Brian Watson to Vice President and General Manager at station. 

Watson had previously served as Vice President, Station Manager/Director of Sales since August 2016, when he first assumed day-to-day responsibility for overseeing the Detroit duopoly by succeeding his longtime colleague and mentor Tom Canedo, who moved to WUPA-TV, the CBS-owned CW station in Atlanta. 

“As we expected, Brian has done a terrific job of making a smooth transition from heading up our sales team in Detroit to taking on the additional responsibility of leading the entire duopoly,” said Peter Dunn, President, CBS Television Stations.. “We are pleased to officially promote Brian to general manager and look forward to counting on him to continue to build on our success in this key market.”
