Oopsy!
There is no doubt that Crimestoppers involvement with local TV news has been a good match.
Crimes have been solved all over North America thanks to CrimeStoppers and their partnerships with local TV stations that feature the crimes on their newscast.
Here's one that that turned out a bit embarrassing for CrimeStoppers.
It seems that police in Canada were able to take down a large marijuana grow-operation of almost 3,000 plants.
When it turned embarrassing, is one of the people that was arrested in the drug bust was the local president of an Ontario chapter of CrimeStoppers.
Oops.
CrimeStoppers voted to remove Jon-Paul Fuller as President of the local chapter after his arrest. “It’s difficult to accept, very shocking, but nonetheless we’re moving forward,” said Charlie Hotham, who preceded Fuller as president and was reinstated on Thursday.
“We don’t want to let one person take away from the good deeds that Crime Stoppers does,” he added.
Fuller is charged with production of marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking. Another man also faces charges.
